The Experience
Forget the usual driving routes. At Silverstone Rally School, you'll be taking a Suzuki Vitara across a dedicated 4x4 course built within the school's gravel rally stage.
Before getting into the driver's seat, you'll attend a safety briefing covering what to expect from the session. Your instructor will then introduce you to the Vitara and help you prepare for your first off-road challenge.
You'll have 30 minutes behind the wheel to work through three specially designed sections of the course. Each section gives you a different challenge to tackle, with your instructor explaining how to approach the terrain and adjust your driving as you go.
Unlike driving on ordinary roads, off-roading requires you to pay close attention to the surface beneath your wheels. You'll need to think about how the vehicle responds and follow your instructor's guidance as you negotiate the course.
The whole visit takes approximately one hour, including your briefing. You'll be driving a Suzuki Vitara, although an alternative vehicle may be used if the usual car is unavailable.
This experience takes place at Silverstone Rally School's dedicated off-road facilities, rather than on the Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit.
