The Experience
Experience the Wicklow Mountains on a guided rail and coach tour from Dublin.
The Wicklow Mountaineer Rail Tour begins with a scenic train journey along Ireland’s east coast. Guests join the tour from Dublin Connolly Station or Dun Laoghaire, depending on arrival point. The coastal route offers views of cliffs and shoreline as the train travels south.
On arrival in Wicklow, the tour continues by coach into the countryside. The first stop is Avoca, a small village known for craft heritage and television history. You’ll have time to browse Avoca Handweavers and explore the village at a relaxed pace.
The journey then continues into the Wicklow Mountains. The tour visits Glendalough, a twelfth-century monastic settlement set within a mountain valley. The site is known for its lakes and walking paths. Visitors are given time to explore independently and enjoy the surroundings.
Throughout the tour, travel is fully hosted to ensure a smooth experience. The return journey to Dublin is by coach, with scheduled drop-offs in Dun Laoghaire and the city centre. The half-day format makes this tour ideal for cruise passengers and short-stay visitors.
