The Bucharest: Salt Mine Day Trip to Slănic offers a fascinating journey into the largest salt mine in Europe. Starting from Bucharest, you’ll travel in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle with WiFi on board, accompanied by a professional guide who provides insight into the region’s history and traditions.
On arrival, your skip-the-line admission ensures quick entry to the mine. A short descent takes you 208 meters underground, where the cool air and constant 12-degree temperature create an environment both refreshing and therapeutic. Inside, vast caverns open up with salt walls stretching 70 metres high, decorated with remarkable basso-rilievo carvings of national heroes.
You’ll have two hours of free time to explore. Visit the history displays, admire the unusual underground sports field or simply soak in the pure atmosphere that has made the site famous for its healing properties. Children can enjoy the underground playground, while adults can appreciate the cultural and natural significance of this unique site.
