The Experience
Your day begins at the base of the chairlift station in Flims, where you will meet the team and check in for the session. You are handed your mountain board and safety gear, followed by a straightforward briefing so you know exactly how the equipment works.
Once the introductions are out of the way, the instructors take you through the basic techniques. You will practice starting, stopping, and balancing on the board on flatter ground before heading up to the main slopes. It takes a bit of coordination to get used to how the board moves over uneven terrain, but the instructors are there to help you refine your stance.
As you get more confident, you can test your skills on more varied tracks. The boards handle dirt and grass paths differently than regular skateboards, so you will notice the physical effort it takes to lean into the turns and control your speed as you descend. Riding alongside a friend means you can progress at your own pace while seeing who can master the turns first. The experience gives you a realistic taste of an alternative alpine sport without any fuss.
