The Half Day Kayaking Experience in Galway is the perfect way to explore Ireland’s stunning west coast while learning a new skill. Set against the backdrop of Killary Fjord, this guided session combines adventure and breath-taking scenery.
Your day begins with you meeting your instructor and receive all the necessary gear, including a wetsuit, helmet and buoyancy aid. After a short introduction to basic kayaking techniques, you’ll take to the sheltered waters of the fjord on your own sit-on-top kayak.
The session focuses on safety and enjoyment, with time playing water-based games and practising balance. You’ll quickly gain confidence while surrounded by towering mountains and the serene beauty of Ireland’s only fjord. Sit-on-top kayaks are open and stable, making them ideal for beginners - even if you tip over, getting back on is easy.
Suitable for anyone aged 8 and over, this three-hour experience is perfect for small groups or families. After your adventure, return to the base for a hot shower and a well-earned rest.

To participate in the Half Day Kayaking Adventure individuals must be 8+ years of age and fit safely into our buoyancy aids. This adventure requires a minimum of 4 participants to run the activity. Please call to check for the availability of the Half Day Kayaking Adventure.

The Half Day Kayaking Adventure is not dependant on weather, so it’s a good idea to come prepared for any weather.
The Half Day Kayaking Adventure experience lasts 3 hours, you can choose from either the morning kayaking session 10am-1pm or the afternoon kayaking session from 2pm-5pm.
Your voucher is valid for one person. This adventure requires a minimum of 4 participants to run the activity and the group size is never bigger than 8 people.
Please dress in comfortable clothing and bring a rain jacket just incase.
The Half Day Kayaking Adventure is available daily and all year around. Please book your adventure two weeks in advance to ensure availability for your date of choice.
