The Experience
Your tour starts at Maison Martell, where you will check in and meet your guide for the day. You will begin with a look back at the company's beginnings in 1715, learning about founder Jean Martell and how the house established its place in France's cognac region.
As you move through the site, the tour focuses on the people and methods behind the production. Your guide will walk you through the specifics of the process, explaining how nine generations of cellar masters have handled the distillation and blending to keep the flavour profile consistent over the centuries.
After seeing the historic side of the operation, you will move over to L'Atelier Martell for the tasting portion of the visit. Here, you will try a selection of cognacs while learning how to spot the subtle differences in aroma, age and character between each pour. You will also have time to browse the store before heading off.
